May is a Principal of JPWALL, based in Singapore.
May began her career in 2005 with one of the leading general insurers, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group. She was involved in the valuation of liabilities and portfolio analysis for Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Hong Kong. She developed stress testing and risk-based capital models from scratch and monitored the investment performance and asset allocation across the subsidiaries in Asia.
May then joined SCOR Reinsurance as a Senior Pricing Actuary in 2009. She priced non-proportional treaties for territories in Asia-Pacific including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Japan and India. She also reviewed the pricing for large quota share treaties and catastrophic modelling methodologies.
Having gained experience at both a direct insurer and reinsurer, May joined JPWALL in 2010 and has been working closely with clients on projects involving valuation, stress testing, capital modelling, enterprise risk management, ORSA, as well as reinsurance review and risk transfer.
May graduated with a First Class Honors in the Bachelor of Science, majoring in Statistics and Mathematics. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and the Singapore Actuarial Society.
